Mental Health

Looking after our players, on and off the field.

At Western Australian Cricket Masters, we believe a strong team looks after more than just its batting order. Your wellbeing matters to us.

The Part Cricket Plays

For many of our players, Masters cricket is about far more than runs and wickets. It is about connection, routine, and being part of something bigger than the scoreboard.

Stepping onto the field each week means time with mates, a shared purpose, and a genuine reason to get out of the house. Those things matter. We see the difference a season makes, and we know that for some of our players, turning up on game day is the best part of their week. Western Australian Cricket Masters brings people together across every age group and every corner of the state.

That sense of belonging is one of the most powerful things sport can offer. Cricket gives people a place to turn up, be welcomed, and feel part of a team, no matter what else is going on in their lives.

We are proud of the role our club plays in keeping our players connected, active, and supported. We are also realistic. A good innings does not fix everything, and looking after your mental health takes more than a game of cricket. That is why we have brought in a partner who knows this area well.

Our Mental Health Partner

We are proud to partner with Blooming Minds, a respected Western Australian organisation specialising in mental health education and training.

For more than 15 19 years, Blooming Minds has helped people and organisations build practical, evidence-informed approaches to mental health and wellbeing. They are based right here in WA and work with businesses and community groups across the country.

Through this partnership, Blooming Minds is helping WACM make supporting and enhancing mental health and wellbeing a normal, everyday part of being involved with our club. The goal is simple. We want every player to know that looking after your mind is just as important as looking after your game, and that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Hear From Our Community

Mental health is something we talk about openly at Western Australian Cricket Masters, on and off the field. The video and posts below share that conversation in our players' own words, along with snapshots from our community and the work we are doing alongside Blooming Minds. Take a moment to watch, read, and see why looking after your mind is just as much a part of the game as anything that happens between the wickets.

Where to Get Support?

Blooming Minds works with WACM on education and awareness. They do not provide individual counselling. If you need to talk to someone, the services below are free, confidential, and available to everyone.
